Doesn’t our mouth instantly start watering on hearing Biryani? I am sure it does. That rich aroma of the saffronated rice, the meat pieces in them go to make it one deadly combination. In India, Biryani is an integral part of the various functions; no function is complete without some biryani being served in the end meal. The strong aroma of biryani generally comes from the rose water that is added to the biryani after it has been put down from the oven. Onions are the main flavouring component that is browned well to give a nice flavour and colour to the biryani.

Yoghurt is another ingredient used for marinating the biryani meat to add to the tartness. The three main secrets for awesome biryani are basmati rice, Javitri, and mint. Apart from these, a variety ofIndian spices like the Cardamon, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, fresh coriander leaves, ginger & garlic paste, fried golden brown onions and lastly to add the richness saffron mixed in milk is added to it. A biryani is generally accompanied with raita, some chicken chap, onion salad and diced lemons. Cooking of the biryani may not come perfect with the right texture and taste as you may come across in pictures shown on the recipe books, but do not let the long process, the preparation time and the first attempt scare you. As we all know that practice is the key to perfection hence practice it enough number of times, you will get faster and better at it.
